The rain let up for a couple of hours today but stayed overcast and then started raining again this afternoon.
Abby spent the day on the phone with Medicare and Blue Cross dealing with billing issues for her sister. Medicare stopped paying her bills as they said they were the secondary insurer not the primary. Blue Cross said the same thing. Medicare told Abby they couldn't talk to her because they didn't have a POA with her name on it. This has happened 3 times before with them. Abby said fine, "give me your fax number and I'll fax it to you". They don't have a fax machine! "All right, I'll email it to you". They don't use email either. They only use the postal system and they needed to mail Abby a form that allowed them to accept the POA.
Abby explained we are in Alaska and didn't have regular mail service. Too bad! After 5 hours on the phone with different people, she finally found a Medicare person who says "we have the POA and your name is on it. We also are the primary insurer for your sister too."
The democrats want to expand the government? Works for me!!!!!
This sign is seen all over Alaska along the banks of the rivers. Neat idea!
Sarah Palin was right. On a clear day you can see Russia from Alaska.
I think we will try a local restaurant tonight as I don't feel like barbecuing in the rain.
